Hi Everyone,
I'm Jeff in Scottsdale, an engineer and ex-motocross junky. I'm just getting into building up a Giant frame for XC and I'll be popping in for various questions and answers until I get up to speed. And then hopefully I'll return the favor.
I'm not a bike expert by any means although I am a senior engineer in the fluid dynamics arena with expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, fluid thermodynamics, flow calibration, computer systems, software and networks, and BMW drivetrains as a hobby. :-) I'm usually available for any help I can provide any day of the week as my schedule is totally flexible (I may have to answer a cell phone at odd hours but that's about it).
I'm hoping to network with someone with a TIG welder and some bike tools so I can get a few things done on the first frame I'm starting on today (2001 Giant Rainier). Also, I'm looking to get out and test the waters at some of the good riding places around here (I've been to exactly NONE on a mountain bike, although I've lived here since '72). So, if you have an extra bike I can try, let me know (480) 321-6129.
I'm 6.2" 200, athletic and far from a slouch. I'm not looking for a date but I am single. Basically, I just like to have fun, make connections, play with toys, get technical, play guitar (everything but not into classical much anymore mostly incubus, deftones, talk talk, and a pretty diverse set of genres).
Biking is my present interest (sure to be at least a small passion) and I'm all about being in shape and can be highly competitive, however, I'm usually the one in the back until the DH is needed in the 9th. And occasionally, I fall on my face, but usually it's REALLY funny to watch and I always say "if you can't enjoy someone else's misfortune, who does?". You could probably talk me into riding off the roof into the pool kinda thing but I tend to stay away from those things lately.
Anyway, hi everyone...I'm Jeff. NoReallyThink@hotmail.com
