I bought 2 used xt front derailleurs for 5$ at the annual sale at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome. I want to put them on a frame i bought, but one is too small and one is too big. Is it possible to shim the clamp on the bigger one to make it fit, or do i need to shell out 20$ for a lx that actually fits?

Thanks

There are some shims available.Wheels Manufacturing makes one for a 31.8 clamp on a 26.8 tube and Shimano has them for a 35.0 clamp to a 31.8 or 28.6 tube..Probably others.

Thanks. I was worried that the shim might be too soft and the derailleur may move around while i try to shift.
