That route takes you almost to my home town! One of the towns mentioned in the Swedish list is Bovallstrand. That's only three miles from where I grew up! :D

Some pictures:

So I say, GO FOR IT!!! :D :D

Seriously, though. That part of Sweden is great for cycling. Very little traffic on the country roads, plenty of small towns along the route to take breaks in and buy food.
Low rolling landscape with glacially polished, reddish-grey and red granite (Bohus granite) outcrops throughout. During the summer, sea food is the dominating theme along the coast, if that's something you like.

I could go on and on! :D

I've heard very good things about this route. Some of the route, I believe, is on some high-traffic road, but from what I understand, NOT MUCH and relatively speaking, drivers are courteous. There are also some parts that are semi-offroad that are supposed to be GORGEOUS. I am planning this trip, either in 2007 or 2008. You will have to regale us with tales of your adventures. :D

I've done the Dutch part and set off to do the Norwegian part last year, but was seduced by the idea of heading North. I would still like to do the Swedish and Danish parts, ... so many tours, so little time.

Don't you just hate these people who answer their own posts?

Well, I just found this great site that will help just about anyone trying to decide which direction to travel on bike tour. This (http://magicseaweed.com/Holland-Germany-Denmark-MSW-Surf-Charts/10/wind/in/)gives wind direction and speed (we are familiar with Beaufort?)

Did the Danish section last summer (2005), interesting, but a bit flat and boring, basically sand dunes on one side and marran grass on the other. And every village looked the same as the last one, but great cycling country, nice people, loads of places to camp.
