BMX - huffy.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

-Huffy is a fine beginner bike.
-Remove every guard that was installed by the store owner
-Go to www.bmxtrix.com and read the how to on tricks.
-Practice bunnyhopping over small obstacles and up curbs.
-Welcome to BMX, if youre not hurting in the beginning youre not trying hard enough.
-If the bike looks lame with stickers, remove them.
-If you dont grind yet, take off the pegs while you learn to bunny hop(they weigh a ton).
-Cut the handlebars shorter and the seat post shorter.
-Remove front brakes unless you are riding flatland.
-Lighten the bike as much as possible, its heavy steel.
-Watch out for the mean people on these forums.

no way man. my bike doesnt need to be lighter, it already is super light.....something like 50 pounds so its ok.and i called up huffy today to see if i can get some better stickers for it. im going to get green and gold ones if i can.they said they would call me back. and im also thinking of switching my bike from having pedal brakes to the ones u pull with ur hand.

50lbs is actually really heavy. 40lbs. is considered to be heavy. A good weight would be mid to low 30's. Switching to hand brakes would be a good thing to do, especially if you ever want to try dirt jumping.

oh. i thought that a 50 pound bmx bike was really lightwieght. although i think my bike may be titanium. thats what the guy at the shop said...and it was only $160 australia dollars. and i want to put on my hand brakes but there is no where for the things that have the brake pads attached to them to go. can i drill my frame and use a bolt for them to go onto?

HAHAH, my bike weighs 16 lbs. Your bike is not titanium, maybe, taiwanese. It's a peice of sh*t. Here is what you can do to make it better. Burn it. Throw it away. Don't tell anyone you owned it. Never buy a bike ever again, untill your atleast 12. Thanks.
