Classic & Vintage - Lycett saddle

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I recently picked up a 59 Raleigh Sports that belonged to a family member since new. It probably hasn't been ridden since the 60's, but it has all the original parts.
It does have a Lycett saddle, however, and I was under the impression that Brooks B72 saddles were used on these bikes. Its a minor detail, but did these saddles come with Raleighs? It looks very similar to a B72 (I know Brooks bought out Lycett).
Thanks

I had a 69 Raleigh Sports in the 80s & it had a B72. That was all I ever saw on them. Curse the day I sold the Bike without swapping out that perfect saddle!

I have a Lycett Lavenier leather saddle on my Raleigh Grand Prix. It was not original to the bike - I bought it used many years ago and have moved it from frame to frame. I am also curious about this saddle's history.
BudR, if you need to clean it, use a good, mild leather soap and then treat it with lots of neatsfoot oil, especially applying it to the bottom/inside of the saddle. It will really soak up a lot. You can also take some tension off the bolt underneath while treating the leather, if you want, then readjust before you ride on it.
