We thought the folks in the Tandem forum might like to know about Tandem Cycle Works of Colorado's Tandem Events for 2006.
Ireland in August:
We have room left for two tandem teams on our very special trip to Ireland in August. This custom tandem tour is limited to 12 tandem teams, taking us to the west of Ireland, primarily Counties Clare and Galway. Known as the most Irish of Ireland, the west is renown for magnificent scenery, delicious seafood, friendly folk, and great music. Memorial Day Weekend in Grand Junction, Colorado:
We are heading to Grand Junction this year for our annual 3-day tandem event over Memorial Weekend. The dates are May 26-29, 2006. Planned rides include the "Tour of the Moon" (Colorado National Monument Loop), an orchards/vineyards ride through Palisade, and a ride in Fruita, west of Grand Junction. As always, our rides will include options of varying lengths, up to approximately 60 miles for the longest rides. There is NO FEE for this ride, and as such no sag support, but we will provide maps, and a really good time (that's for those of you who have been with us on past rides)! We typically have around 35-40 teams join us, and it's been great fun in the past.
We have booked a block of rooms at the Hawthorne Inn & Suites, located in the old town section of Grand Junction. This very convenient location is in the center of town adjacent to the walking mall and lots of shops and restaurants just steps away (and just around the corner from Enstrom's Toffee and ice cream/coffee store!). The discounted rate is $89 per night for a queen suite and the hotel will allow bike storage in rooms. We have reserved 25 rooms at this rate. Please call the hotel directly to make your room reservation at 1-970-242-2525 and ask for the group rate for the Colorado Tandem Club Event. Please drop us an e-mail so WE know that you will be joining us, especially if you are not staying at our host hotel (otherwise we have no way of knowing that you are coming!).
