From on line. Seems I unfortunatley down loaded this program. Don't think it came with our new lap top. When deleteting the program, it won't go away. Download and save a picture to my picture file. Get a box that says pictures can't be stored. Anyone else have this problem.

You have to be VERY careful when downloading programs from the Internet. Ya often gets what ya pays for. Try going to the Microsoft site. Download, install, and run Microsoft Anti-Spyware.

Did you uninstall the program using Add/Remove Programs?

I'd suggest scanning your system with both AdAware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) and Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html). It probably wouldn't hurt to try the Microsoft offering as well, but I have no experience with that beastie.

A more permanent fix would be to install Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/) (only half-joking :p).

For digital-camera, I don't even bother with any of the transfer or scrapbook programs. Just plug the camera in, or pull the memory-card and stuff into card-reader. it then shows up as an auxilliary-drive, like E: or F: or some such. Then just drag the files over to a storage-folder on your hard-drive. Then open up from there in Photoshop or whatever program you use to edit & print.

Remove program then download picasa2. Its free now from google and the pics are great. I have an Olympus camera + software, I have Adobe Photoshop Pro, Adobe 2.0 and HP Image editor. And Picasa2 is my best Images

OK, picasa may be good and all, but better than what you can do with Adobe? Doubtful. Although Adobe is complex and takes time to learn properly....

My guess is that cyclezealot needs to unregister a Windows service associated with the Kodak software. He/she can log on as an Administrator-class user, use Start > Run > cmd to get a command prompt, then run the command tasklist /svc to list services, and post a pic perhaps.

Uninstalling the software the normal way should've gotten rid of any Kodak-specific services, but if a brute-force removal was attempted, the service may need to be manually unregistered using the regsvr32 -u command.
