I see plenty of people riding Haro's, nothing wrong with them for entry level. The thing is that these people who are making fun of you all have bikes that arent completes. The common trend now is that if its a complete, its junk.

[edit] To say there are high end completes that are worth it.

I have the mirra 540, and although i like it a lot, i wish i could have spent abot $30 more for the dk clevelend, which is 2 pounds lighter and full chromoly. I think haros are good for complete bikes, many people here spend too much time and money into bmxing - they are very adamant in their position and if you think otherwise, they will look at you with scorn.

one such person is my friend who says anything under $600 is garbage. he says you have to spend at least that if you buy a good frame, you will have it for lifetime...but i live in the bronx, and what if that gets stolen?

I think it's kind of like buying a car. basically a haro is like buying a bmw. buying a custom bike is like buying an import with v8s with turbo/super chargers and all that stuff. It depends on how much you ride/race...I ride about 10 minutes a day so it doesnt really matter.

I payed like $250 for my Haro Cruiser. Put like $20 in tires on it. I still love it. After beating on it for 3 years it's still going strong. If it works, use it and ignore the people that value "cool" more than fun. Unless they want to pay for your bike. It's retarded to get caught up in a cool contest. You'll always lose, someone else always has more money and will blow it on stupid stuff to brag about. If you "need" a $1000+ bike to feel good about yourself, or to ride better, then by all means spend it. Or better yet, spend $500 on a bike, invest the other $500+ and let it double every 7 years. Buy lots of "pets dot com" :)

I love my Haros. Of course, mine are ooollllddd. I've got a 1986 Master and a 1989 Group 1. I'd have no issues buying a Mirra 540 or something like it. I fail to see what's wrong with the newer Haros, save for the 'cool factor' of the trendy indy bikes.

I owned a Haro Cozmo bright yellow, was my first BMX bike I liked it alot and never had any problems with it. Bright yellow always catches the eye.

your premium is made by haro...(in case you didnt know...)

and i have a Haro and its my second one, my first was a backtrail x1 2001 model, and the one im riding right now is a x3 from 2003, and the only complaints i have about both of them is that the paint job is bad and its chips super super easy, i think that they make very good beginner bikes and their higher end bikes with all the premium goodies are amzing bikes that are have the "custom" built feel and quality to last a long time...so i guess i like them, though i am gettin a Fit series 3 soon...hehe

so many people think lighter is better, but if your a bigger guy, as in fat, you should get a beefier frame(not saying anyones fat). i had to get that out, i hate hearing people moan and groan when they crack their brand new 4 pound frame and they weigh a ton.
