Now - here's a problem.

Titanium is still too expensive for mots people to have ONE frame - let alone the blessings to have tried more than one and compare!

also - you left out the most affordable, and therefore, popular Ti frame - Airborne

Stew No, I didn't. See "Other."

As there was no blank for my current ride--Merlin Agilis--I clicked "Other". However, I've been seriously eyeing Moots lately; I love that brazed-on seat-binder.

I love that brazed-on seat-binder.

I have a early-eighties bianchi with that...its the seat binder that counts, right?

Merlin Cielo, Seven Odonata, and Serotta Ottrott
are all Ti Carbon fibre hybrids.
FWIW I vote Serotta Legend, The full Ti one
not the ST (CF Seatstays).

Bikes are like Motorcycles, autos and material possessions in general. The best so often turns out to be rationalized into what one can afford at the time. What's sad is so many that can't afford their dream bikes, have a tendenacy to knock  their real dream bikes and sometimes the owners that can afford their dreams.

Dreams bikes or "the best" titanium frames are meant to be the best of the lot....NOT THE BEST THAT SOMEONE CAN AFFORD.

The best exotic sportcar on the road is a Ferrari... I can only afford a new Porsche Carrera Convertible... and I don't own one of those either... maybe next year :D

Neato

I think it's hard to find a BAD titanium frame nowadays. Is a Moots better than a Dean at a fraction of the price? Only if it fits you better and you prefer the ride.

It's just a guess, but in that line-up, you can't really go wrong. I went for a custom-fitted Serotta Ottrott.

Umm, interesting handle, Mike.

In reality, there is no overall "best" titanium frame. The best titanium frame is the one that fits you, is properly constructed to match your weight and riding style, and has the geometry that meets your riding requirements, whether it is sprinting, loaded touring, hill climbing, crits, track, or doing a randonneur.

In my experience, other riders don't really care about what kind of bike one is riding and are not jealous if your bike is better than theirs.

After all, it's not about the bike, it's about the ride!
