What is the best pedal on the market? Why? If you could design the ultimate pedal, what would it look like, what features would it have? Let me know, and who knows, maybe we can make it – I am working with a pedal maker.

If you don't know, now you know. Wal-Mart has the world's best pedal in stock. Wellgo's all-plastic offering is on sale for $3.86/pr. The durability of plastic with the aesthetically pleasing alternating orange and red reflectors. The perfect complement to a ride worthy of the #1 plate. Go get yours!

lol nice one man...i own 2 pairs myself, but i only use them for indoor riding so i dont scratch the floor when i fall. I love the Odyssey Southgate pedals to death. Tons of grip, even with the pins out. Lightwiegh, very big platform...I think these are the best pedals! :D

844g
They are heavy but I do not notice the extra weight and they have a handy bottle opener on each pedal (good for those after ride beers).
I will say this, I have never slipped off them even in the thickest off mud.
There biggest draw back for most riders is the fact that if you eat sh** they will tear a good size hole in your leg.

Brooklyn Machine Works Shinburger pedals...

Their website (http://www.brooklynmachineworks.com/parts/shinburger.htm) claims 844 grams per pair.

Hey DBD,

They ought to make quick release cranks to go with those, so you can bring 'em into the kitchen and put 'em to work on some cheap steaks! :D

Check out the Finally finished thread in mtb forum. I got one almost like the one in the photo about 30 sec into our ride. To ride with pain, yum yum.
