My daughter just scored 1400+ (combined) on the SAT. Not impressive (I'm guessing that's about the 50th percentile overall) until you learn that she's TWELVE. She and a friend got interested in this program where middle school kids study for and take the SAT. Her score qualifies her for a more intensive program over the summer @ John Hopkins U. in Baltimore. By the way they sent this offer to half the school... and out of about 900 kids I'd say 10 actually took the SAT test. I'm proud of her initiative more than her score.
THAT's important Euro. Your 'top 1000' rantings are just Weenieizm run amok....
Get a friggin GRIP dude. Please.

Way to use your child to mock someone online. Weird priorities, IMO, but hey, nice job by the kid! :)
Congratulations to your daughter! It's great hearing about a child taking interest in their education.

I think people here care a lot less about your daughter's accomplishments than about Euro's race results. Congratulations are in order, for sure, but here?
By the way, unless the SAT scoring system has changed since I've been in high school, I think 1400 is way more than 50th percentile. Very good scores. But what's her average mph over a 40k time trial? :)

btw...they recently changed the SAT scoring system....the highest score is 2400...but still not bad for a little kid.
I'm pretty sure the SATs did change... the number isn't out of 1600 anymore.

I hope you're right, otherwise P-cad's daughter blew me out of the water...
Congrats!!! Tell her all the computer bike guys are impressed. I hope I'll be around to here what she gets for a score when she's a junior.

I dusted her.
Hopkins has a lot of great programs for kids. I'm sure she'll love it.

The important thing is to set a goal and to work hard enough to meet that goal. Very few people in life can do that, so they feel the need to knock those who can.
The fact is, alot of overachievers are very confident and have an aura of arrogance about them. If they fail there will be consequences (because of thier attitude, expectations), but they do not. Why do you think most great athletes such as Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds, Kobe Bryant, and others come off as rude or brash?
Speaking of wonderkids...
My nephew scored 133 on his IQ test at 5, he has a speech impediment and doesn't pay attention at school so everyone was wondering if he was 'slow'. Even though he acts 'slow', there are alot of unexplained things he can do, like identify any word someone has read to him (he could practically read at 4) and he remembers things when he was 1.
Sad thing is his parents give a rats ass about his future (they say they do, but wouldn't raise a finger to help him) and his talent will probably go to waste.

Get a friggin GRIP dude. Please.I'm not sure if Euro's the one in need of a "grip." This hard-on a lot of you have for him is really pathetic but very entertaining, and Euro has certainly proven to be the needed antidote to all this unfunny OCP-idiocy. He's no 53-11 of old, but his troll-force is strong, and he'll do. (By the way, I'm looking for a road cycling forum where everyone doesn't act like 12 year olds, anybody know of one?)

Hopkins has a lot of great programs for kids.
I can attest to this as both my boys go to Hopkins.

Congrats, Patentcad. Back when I took the SAT, I was sitting at a table full of those 12yr. olds. They were gunning for a summer program at Mizzou. I was shooting for a way out of my dad's house. :-)

Middle aged men with kids. I.e., the demographic that buys enough overpriced CF bikes to encourage market entry by smaller companies, increasing supply and driving down price.

You're just screwin' because EURO does troll-lite far better than your feeble attempts patentcad.
Congrats on your daugher's SAT scores though.

+1!!!!!!!!!!
finally, someone with some sense.
I assume patentcad is talking about CTY. If it's like it was back in the day, it's a fun and very useful academic summer program. I thoroughly enjoyed my two summers there and learned a lot while having a blast. I know it's not cheap, but I think it's well worth it.
patentcad's daughter, if she goes, would find her scores to be mediocre among the scores of the others there. But as with cycling, training with the best is a great way to become better. My math scores were among the top (99th percentile), but my verbal scores were barely adequate for the program (50th percentile). I had a tough time through the two humanitities courses I took, but I learned a lot and it was well worth the effort. And it's under a minimal-pressure environment, with plenty of play time. :)

Congrats to your daughter. My daughter was invited to Duke for the TIP Grand Recognition a few years ago. It is a great honor. But having a daughter in the seventh grade is even better. The next 5 years are going to really suck though. Good luck.

I'm not sure what your daughter's accomplishments have anything to do with euro's.. good for her and you to be proud, you should be! as much as i am not a huge fan of euro's way sometimes.. I think that he is totally entitled to make his top 1000 ranting his priorities if he wishes as much as you are entitled to make your daughter's acomplishments yours. I dont see the point of this thread but using your daughter for personal revenge on euro.. tsk tsk tsk
