dude, that kind of stuff really sucks (obviously). I have some friends that saw brian(i forget his name) break his back at woodward and it makes me cringe when they talk about it. You know how bad he's paralised or if they think he'll regain feeling?

I don't think it was the intial crash that broke his back, I think it was when Fonseca landed on him, but i am not sure. That was still a horrible crash though.

C2, C5, and C6 vertebrates are broke. He went in for a nine hour surgery yesterday I think.

yup.....him getting landing on really f'd him up, RacerX gave him a 750$ gas card, what if he never walks again, and before surgery he only had use of his left arm/shoulder, and very little

They gave him a $750 gas card? Is he going to give the doctors gas, are the doctors f*cking robots? The gas card will be a kick in the nuts if he is paralized, unless he gets a gas powered wheelchair I mean really, thats just stupid.

James Update! February 14th 2:31

We just talked with Billy Marshall. What a family and we again extend our heartfelt prayers towards his family. A few updates...

James's surgery went well last night. This morning at 5:30 am James woke up from the surgery and had minor feeling in his middle back area. The pressure from the swelling was relieved and it seems to have helped James's sensations. James felt minor feeling down through his belly button, but not much more. James has movement and feeling in his left arm. James was able to move his right arm a little bit, but still no major breakthroughs. There no word on if he will regain total feeling. This could take days or weeks to fully determine. They hope to sit James upright today and start rehab in his arms.

As I was on the phone with Billy, Marc Hauser from Richardson RV Supercenter came by and dropped off an RV for Jame's family to live in. The hospital barely has a waiting area and their lodging situation was very difficult. Thank you Marc and Richardsons RV Supercenter.

We have been talking with the great folks over at Fox Racing for the past couple days. What a great group of people genuinely concerned for James. They will be providing autograph gear from Stewart and Carmichael for fundraising. Thank you!

Thank you RacerX again and again for the tremendous support and helping get the word out. We appreciate it.

Keep the donations coming...we are nearing $20,000. God bless you all, please keep praying for a miracle in James's body.

All the money goes strait to help him, people have bided a crap load on things, i mean alot of money. Its good alot of people are trying to help him.

There's two reasons they gave him a gas card.
1.) to help give him motovation to walk again knowing that he will have alot of free gas
2.) In SX, most of the time racer X gives the top privateer of the night a 750.00 gas card. Just to be able to say you got that gas card is something. Also, to a privateer, 750.00$ is alot of money.

February 15th, 5:00pm James Marshall Update

We just got off the phone with Dave Galer (James' Mechanic) and sadly we have no major progress update for James today. Here is what has happened in the past 24 hours.

James is still recovering from monday's major surgery. He still has the same movements and feels as before--no major breakthroughs to speak of. The doctors have propped James up in his bed so that he can look forward and be a little more comfortable. The issue at hand right now is fluid in James' lungs. They are working on pumping out fluid from his lungs. They are expecting that it will take until tomorrow to get all the fluid out completely

James has been very positive today. He has been visited by Jimmy Button and Road 2 Recovery has been taking care of the Family's Logistics. .

Wish we had more information on improving conditions but we dont. There is still too much swelling to know anything right now. Lets pray for a miracle for tomorrow.

We want to thank Davey Coombs from RacerX for their article on James today on Racerxill.com.

We also want to announce the James Marshall Ride Day at Glen Helen Raceway on Tuesday March 21st. They are several other ride days happening around the country. There also is a fundraiser event in Texas on March 19th as well. For more information on the Texas event, go to: http://www.houstonmotocross.com/theforum/viewthread?thread=9562
