Hello Groovers,

I still haven't bought my Specialized R'Hopper A1 FS Pro !!! But I've been offered a 1.5yr old Porsche Bike S. I do not however know much about these bikes apart from what I can see on the web - their most stricking feature is the "motorcycle" style Magura Shocks !! and hydraulic rim brakes. All in all its a solid, light bike with pretty good components....but PORSCHE !!! - anyway, I am still not convinced.

The Specialized I'm looking to buy is about £800 and apparently this Porchse was £1,300 a year and a half ago.

I've seen a lot of good feedback about the Specialized, can anyone shed any light on the Porsche.

I thank you,

Rusty

Since no one has responded, I'll offer my $.02

I would stay away from the porshe bike for a couple of reasons:
1) Just because the price tag was high, doesn't mean it was worth it
2) It's obviously hard to get feedback on this bike since no one has responded and I don't think there are a lot around
3) If you have problems w/ the frame, where are you going to send it back to and what kind of service are you going to get?
4) Specialized is a well known and well established bike company that usually puts out a good bike for the buck.

Thanks very much......yep the replies were not particulary forthcoming so I assumed no-one really knows much about Porsche's bikes !!!!--- I know I don't.

I was set on buying the Rockhopper - then my boss said he was selling this Porsche Bike S so I thought I'd investigate.....I think I'll stick with the Specialized.

Thanks for your help.....I'll let you guys know what the rockhopper is all about...eventually.

Cheers

Rusty

Hey Rusty,

Rider made some excellent points (as he always does). Just from the fact that there not many responses to the thread tells me that not many people know about the Porsche bike.

Specialized is a very well know brand with excellent customer service so that should play a big part in your decision when purchasing a new bike.

Have a lot of fun on your new bike and let us know how it goes.
