Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I recently picked up a new F6 HR monitor, which retails for $99. It's a basic HR monitor with no cycling specific functions, which I don't need anyway because I have cyclocomputers on most of my bikes. Anyway, I am very pleased with the free web based training software (www.polarcyclingcoach.com), which allows me to upload my HR data and monitor my progress as I train for an event, such as a century. It will even create a customized training program for me. It has a feature called soniclink which works like a fax machine to transfer data over the microphone on my computer. So far it has worked flawlessly. It also has an uplink tool to transfer personal data from the computer to the HR monitor, such as current time, age, weight, etc. etc. I never expected these many features in a basic monitor for this price. The only downside I have seen so far is that the display is kind of dim, which makes it hard to see under some light conditions.

Hmm....I have an F11 that I bought a few weeks ago. Maybe I should read the instruction manual so I can figure out the whole software thing....
