Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Directory structure is too confusing

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It takes far to long to figure out the forums directory structure. Most assume
BikeForums and
BikeForums/BikeForums
are the same and never see the other potential interest areas.
A simple change to something like this would be easier for everyone to follow:
BikeForums
BikeForums/RidingForums
Then when you are in BikeForums you know you are in the correct folder and not in the alternative
folder with the exact same name.
Come again?
I don't quite know what you are talking about. Maybe its a computer thing that is out of my reach but it still don't make sense.

Bike Forums > Bike Forums
Commuting
Sample thread is
Bike Forums > Bike Forums > Commuting
Rack Question
So say I am looking at a thread in commuting/advocacy/general etc. There are 2 different
"Bike Forum" directory links at the top of the page. One goes to the parent of all forums, the second only goes to the parent of the commuting subforum.
Bad practice to have 2 forum locations with the same name.
I don't know how to make it more clear, simply stated the hot links in the footsteps should have different names. Either make the names different, or make both links go to the same place. It is much easier to rename than to have all clicking on bread crumb links go to a new location.

I'm confused by your confusion.
While a little confusing - and something I'm sure Joe can come up with a creative solution for - personally I don't see a huge issue with it. Figuring out the structure here is a ton easier than those 'other' cycling forums. ;) Maybe that's why I spend 99.9% of my time here.
