I've always been curious about Strida's....how does the ride compare to other bike in terms of body positioning? Is it the body geometry the same a for a conventional bike?
Very upright position, moreso the taller you are, since the seat gets closer to the bars in the horizontal sense as well as the vertical sense as you raise it. Very nice bike for in-town use where there aren't a lot of hills. Folds well and at about 22-25 pounds, fairly light to travel with.
Hey Randya,
Nice Kilt! :p
P.S. Just came back from a ride around Liverpool on my Strida.
Randya,
Thanks for the info...cool bike.

You cant do better for getting to know new towns - must have been awsome around Europe. Any problems transporting it on the airline ?
Strida sells a bag for the bike and claims it meets the dimensions for standard luggage. The bike in the bag is about the same size as a golf bag. On the return flight the airline treated it as oversized (no extra charge). The bags took some abuse during airline handling but without damage to the bikes. IMO, the bags are kind of thin and could use some strategic reinforcement and additional padding in several places where sharp edges on the bike actually wore through the bags. We did provide some additional padding for the bikes with other gear we were carrying, which seemed to help. In SF on the way back, NSA kept the bikes for additional inspection, and they didn't make our connecting flight, but the airline delivered them to our house early the next morning.
Traveling by train with the bikes was a little more challenging, they doubled the volume of our luggage, and some walking, including steps, was often involved when riding the trains.
Cool Randya,
I know my bride and I have sure been happy with our 2 Stridas. Great little bike for running around town. They're surprisingly quick for such a simple little bike.
When I look at mine the first word that comes to mind is elegant.
Only trouble we've had so far is EVERYBODY we get near wants to talk about these things. :)
