'Cuz I own "Marquee Moon" on original wax, along with a whole lotta of post-breakup Tom Verlaine solo stuff, I decided to create a thread about the best punk band from NY, besides the Ramones and Blondie.
So good.
Who else agrees?

Television Rocks !!
Ive loved them since I heard 'Glory' in the late 70's !
Saw them at the Irving Plaza in NY about a year ago !
An AMAZING show. The guitar play between Lloyd and Verlaine
is stuff that cant even be explained......It was incredible.
Why these guys arent up there when people talk about guitar gods
is beyond me.
NY is it ! How can you pick just one band ? To me it would be the NY Dolls
or Johhny Thunders Heartbreakers.....Then the Deadboys and Dictators..
Not punk, but Lou Reed Live and Rock and Roll Animal is unequivocally the
BEST two guitar rock album EVER recorded. Hunter and Wagner blow any
other two guitar band away. A truly magical couple of nites !
I sawBlondie in '79 and was in love with Debbie Harry 'til the Blackhearts started
making the rounds :roflmao:
I worked for a band that opened for the Ramones twice. Joey was one of the
nicest, most-down-to-earth people you could ever imagine.
I remember him plying Pinball at the Ripley in Phill and he looked like
a HUGE japanese , Praying Mantis, Godzilla type monster destrying the machine
:roflmao:
Wow, I miss the good ole daze

Another fan here. Saw them at the Roxy in Los Angeles, 1978. They had a real bass player by then which didn't hurt. I'd highly recommend the "arrow club" bootleg; think it's out in a CD now. I have the cassette and the LP which are overlapping recordings of two parts of the same show.

I liked them.
My fave punk bands were English.
The Stranglers and Cabaret Voltaire.
