Foo - Short-track Speed Skating Kicks A$$

It definitely more than reminds me of bicycle track racing and it's making me super winsome for the Kissena twilight series.

You should check it out, it's a blast. I don't know where you are, but there are clubs in most major cities. Mine is Boston based.

Of course, it's not for people who aren't willing to rock the full spandex suits, not piddly roadie spandex. :D

i just watched three girls get thrown into the walls whilst skating the short track. it was so much fun.

All these olympics related posts tonight. It was a pretty kick ass night of winter sports:
women's downhill
short track speed skating
my favorite ever: freestyle moguls
and i saw some sort of 3-man speed skating pursuit race that was exactly like pursuit racing on the velodrome, 2 teams, racing on opposite phases of the same track

it was all so awesome!

the pursuit so reminded me of track racing. If there was stuff like that around here (i live in FL) I could really be into that.

Olympic women's hockey is great. Olympic men's hockey is a bunch of millionaires skating around. There was a report the other night with some members of Team Canada who were complaining about how they're not used to traveling this far to play so many games in so little time. One said that he didn't think he'd show for all of the games because of the hectic schedule. They need to look at the skaters and skiiers who fell, got up and despite injuries got their tushes back out there. So they're tired. Boo hoo. They're competing for their country. Where's the team spirit and the heart in the game? Lot to be said for not letting pros play in the games. Get some people in there with passion for whom this isn't simply an all-Star game. :mad:

Short track makes me dizzy to watch! It rocks!

It is fun to watch, but if I were a top speed skater, I'd go long track, simply because there are too many ways for the fastest skater to get knocked out in short track - fairly, or unfairly.
