Another reason to stay on two wheels: today on a ride I witnessed the tail end of two cars colliding trying to get into one lane from two. While getting in an accident isn't that funny, it was ironic that one of the drivers who bashed into the other had honked at me and swerved around me two blocks earlier. So he was speeding and hit another car, it seems he should have honked at the car and not at me if he wanted to get somewheres in a hurry.

Later in the day I passed a few people discussing a fender bender that apparently just took place. The lady who hit the other car (I guess she knew she was at fault) as I passed literally got down on her knees and begged the other lady to let her pay out of pocket instead of going through insurance. Just classic. It reminded me how free it is to hop on a bike and not worry about car insurance, worrying about someone hitting the car and all manner of other problems associated with cars.

Interesting bike ride. I don't understand whats the point of paying for insurance, if then she is going to pay out of pocket to get the car fixed. Maybe she thought in a long run it would be cheaper, but somehow I doubt it.

We've had some real Winter weather here, and I've seen some nasty fender benders in the last few days. I posted this one from the Rocky Mountain news in a different thread, in case you haven't seen it. Check out the passing bicyclist!

Yeah, no one's ever gotten into an accident on two wheels.....and cyclists are always kind to one another........right.....
