I have not seen this comercial on tv yet but some one on another bord did and that is where I went to watch it. Getting mtb's on tv is a good thing if done right but this commercial makes mtb'ers look like a** holes. It gives us a seriously bad image. I have written to American Express and let them know of my dissapointment with their use of our sport in such a negitive way.
Clink on the link below and then click on "bike" to see what I am speaking of.

I saw it on TV the other night. I was not too pleased either. Also, has anyone seen the Honda CRV commercial where they show a couple of mountain bikers jousting? Although mildly amusing, I'm not sure it's good for the image of the sport to depict us as a bunch of rejects from a casting of Jackass: The Movie.

I actually like that commercial because the couple in the CRV look like a pair of reject yuppie glad bags who are afraid to get their feet wet in a real adventure. They just hide in their pretend 4x4 until they eventually get stuck somewhere and have to hit onstar to bail them out because they just don't have a clue.

The target audience shouldn't watch commercials like that because it gives them ideas that should never ever be followed through with.

They're better off just staying home with the sony high definition television, the X-Box, and the compaq presario dailing out to imaginary AOL chat love affairs that each of them futily hide from eachother. That's more than enough excitement for them; at least until the first couple babies are born.

You'd be suprised by how many people out there have to call a tow truck to change a tire.

I saw that Seinfeld commercial for the first time last night and I was not pleased also. The message it portrays is that mountain bikes destroy the landscape  . The irony is that they were giving away a mt. bike...idiots

I think the commercial was fine. It supposed to be funny and I thought it was.

I do think that the American Express commercial was a tad tasteless, but the CR-V commercial was FREAKIN HILARIOUS! I was freaking on the floor man! Especially, when they show the guy doubled over..."ow man...oww" I'm not a sadist or anything, but that was kind of amusing...

At least a bike tube actually requires that you have a tool that won't rip the tube. With a car tire, you have everything you need to remove one and put another on in the car when you drive it off of the lot.
