The first one is a little disturbing. I thought the Simpson's episode where Homer tries to jump Springfield Canyon on a skateboard was ridiculous, but this makes that look like a loose shoelace.

I hate seeing stuff like that where they don't mention how the guy managed afterwards. If he recovered, is able to walk and even ski again.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Stupid thing cut off before it mentioned the outcome.

The repeated head over heels flopping while in a rigid position is simply not the way a real human body would react in that situation. Someone zoomed a camera at the top of a mountain, followed a line down it, and had fun adding the unfortunate "skiier" from the comfort of their computer.

I wouldnt say its fake. Ive wiped out on ski hills that were probably not half as steep as that, and its sometimes impossible to stop. Once you wipe out on a hill that that guy did, its pretty much game over, you are gravity's b1tch.

The guy is probably tumbling at a pretty rapid speed so body control would be quite difficult, and plus the camera is probably over 500m (more probably) away from the guy, its quite hard to tell if he's rigid. And he most likely lost consciousness for a brief period after whacking his head on rocks.

Theres another crash like it i saw on "sports disasters" on TLC, but the camera man was actually on the hill, and the same thing, they guy had no control, and it showed his leg smashing against a rock and you could see the leg dangling around, it was badly broken. That was real nasty.

I have seen several videos similar. I remember one from alaska freesking competition where the guy did that the entire length of the mountain till it got a little shallower where, yes, the body stops going head over heals.

If its steep enough the is no reason to expect the body to simply slide.

thing is... that slope is probably 40-50 degrees. To give you an idea, 40-50 degrees would allow you to touch the slope next to you with a bent elbow while you were standing up straight.

If that is real, I feel for that skier. But I agree that the first cut in the video makes me wonder if it is real.

It's got a TLC logo and narrator. Unless you feel someone went to the trouble to copy those elements and put them in, you should re-evaluate.

I'm generally a skeptic, too, but I know people try stuff like that. It wouldn't surprise me for someone to screw up. I'm not going to try to pass judgement on the video, but I did notice powder following him down the mountain. If it's fake, it's a good one.
