I had a wart on one of my fingers when I was a kid. I cut it off with a razor blade, it grew back, I cut it off again, it grew back again, etc. After cutting it off 20 or so times, it gave up. Wart-free to this day...

Three words: Swiss Army Knife.

You can also get some acid to burn it off over the counter at the Rx. Multiple applications req'd.

The doc will freeze it with nitrogen +/- scrape it out. Multiple treatments may also be req'd.

I have a nail clipper and i did a knife twice. I literally cut the thing out but it kept coming back. I guess i didn't cut big enough.

LOL! I had one on my hand about 20 years ago and I tried all the OTC stuff I could find to get rid of it but I just could not get rid of the stupid thing. One day I got pissed off and got a piece of ice and put on it for a few minutes until it was numb from the cold then i got a pair of small sidecutters(aka wire cutters) and just snipped the damn thing off. Hit it wih a little alcohol to clean it up. The hole healed up and the wart never came back. :D

My sister went this route, since she didn't like my self-mutilation method. It took two treatments for her, and she said it hurt like hell. I believe she had to pay for it, also. :D

yeah, this is the thing: i had this section on my knee which grew a wart when i was about 12-13 years old. after a few doctors visits it still kept coming back. so the doc did opened up a huge hole (about the size of a nickle) and dug out a bunch of stuff. i have a big ole scar from it. now, after 15 years another wart has grown close to that area. urg!!!

My SIL uses wart pads with Dora (as in the Explorer) on them. You can get them at the local CVS but....word of warning....they don't work too well if you keep pealing them off to see if the wart is gone. :D

Hah. Thats probably the bad thing with the position that mine is in. it's on the side of my bird flippin finger on the far end . In fact the opnly reason i ever notice that its there is because my 4th finger rubs against it.

The dna blueprints for that area are the problem :(

Cutting a wart off will never work. It is a virus that extends deep into your skin, so you just cut off the tip of the virus. Topical solutions don't work if you only use them for a short time...you have to get below the superficial level of the skin to cure the wart and most people don't have the patience.
This is the best secret I have ever learned. Remove a wart using DUCT TAPE. No, it's not a joke. It took me about three weeks. Put a piece of duct tape over the wart, take it off an hour or two a day to air out, and change the piece of tape every day. The chemicals in it work, and were way less harsh or expensive than anything else. It takes a little longer, but it's further proof that Duct Tape fixes EVERYTHING.

are you serious?? i have some duct tape at home just waiting to fix something....

Cutting a wart off will never work.

Never say never, I'm living proof. It all depends on how persistent you are, and how deep you're willing to cut. However, the miracles of modern medicine and duct tape being what they are, I'll not condone my treatment of choice for anyone else... :D

No, I am not joking. I was incredulous too, when it was recommended, but it came from a respectable doctor friend. I tried it and it worked, mainly because I didn't have the patience to apply topical solutions and bandaids every day, but it's very easy to just throw on a piece of tape and leave it there. Like I said, stick with it for a little while, but it was painless in more ways than one :)

There's an OTC product that freezes warts. I can't remember the name, but it works great. I used it once, waited 2 weeks, used it again, and the wart was gone.

I have a dr scholls freez off kit. It cost me 24 dollars. After 4 treatments, the damn thing fell off. Then it grew back. Freezing it off may work, but it hasn't for me yet. Yesterday I did the 8th application. One important thing is to overdose the treatments, especially after a few unsuccessful tries when you have the thing figured out and you know enough to avoid hurting yourself.

When I was 10, it took 2 months but I got rid of a wart with that stuff you brush on and cover with a band aid. I just woke up one morning and there was a huge blister where the wart had been.

A couple of years ago a friend of mine did cut a wart out, and its gone. The trick is, you can't level it like a cup of flower for baking muffins. You have to cut that section of flesh out. I would do it with the wart I have now, but it wouldn't be smart since its on my finger. Compared to the bike accidents we've all had, cutting the wart out like this is not that gruesome, and its the easiest way to go.

Its not a virus :p it's almost always some form of cancerous growth which I'm pretty sure can be attributed to some malfunction in the dna blueprint when skin cells are regenerating .

It will work depending upon the severity of the cancerous growth.

wrong. warts are a virus. Your wart is most likely the common wart, although it could also be a plantar wart, which mostly occurs on the feet, but can occur other places. GEEZ, folks! Research before you rebut! And Michigander is right, the self-mutilation for a wart is probably no big thing for people who have left chunks of flesh on the road. Touché. :)

Yep - I've had 3 docs tell me not to bother with OTC stuff and that they'll freeze 'em off if I want, but I can just go put some duct tape on it and get the same results. Problem is mine are on the bottom of my feet (2) and the tape doesn't stay in place.

when i was a kid, i was so into assembling bikes that i sleep literally with grease on my hands and face. God I wish i din't do that coz 5-6 warts grew on my hands. My mother was cutting them out every night and there was just so much blood and pain (you see the darn wart heart one big bump with small holes w blood on em). The warts were there for a month until I went to the doctor. 2 ways: apply silver nitrate or electrocoterize. I opted fot the silver nitrate. They applied then I applied for a couple of times and it seems to burn your skin until it turns dark brown (maybe that process burns the wart as well). Then after a few weeks i have to peel out the dark brown portion. The yucky part there was the outer skin comes off as well and you see you flesh inside your fingers/hands after you peel it off...eeewww

When I was a small punk in school I had a wart on my finger. I bit it off in class one day and the thing would NOT stop bleeding! But to this day it is gone. Signed-Wart Free in Bradenton
