Not to brag, but it is 54 degrees Fahrenheit in my corner of Massachusetts right now. I just got back from a ride around the neighborhood a few minutes ago. The foot and a half of snow we got 5 days ago is almost completely melted away. Not bad for February! :D

59 thats pretty cold for down there. I remember one trip I took down there in January when it was in the low 60's I was running atround in a t shirt and shorts while everybody else was in their sweats moanin' about the weather.

^^^Yup, highs were in the mid 80s last weekend. Admittedly, that's a bit warmer than usual for this time of year.

Ouch, -30C is pretty damn cold without the wind chill on top. It seems that this arctic front is moving SW. They're forecasting -8C tomorrow here in Portland which is colder than normal.

its no joke over here, people have lost fingers/hands etc. from doing that. It happens a lot of small town folk. I wasnt going to get overly pissed or anything, just a few nice bday drinks with family/friends, but even the pubs a few blocks from my house arent walkable. Nostrils freeze together, eyelids freeze shut, this place sucks big time..

For the last two days, it's been pretty cold here. Barely getting out of the teens. But today it's in the mid 30's...feels pretty nice. Too bad there's no good snow. Friggin el Nino! :mad:

What a wimp! I used to live in Deadhorse, AK, and the temp you have is a fine spring day there! I also was a contract driver for BP, working on a gas pipeline in Siberia. Coldest I ever experienced there was -63F with a wind chill estimated at -192! Operations were definitely shot down that week! :eek:

Make sure you bring your mittens and wear a muffler. And lick any flagpoles you see.

is that a bit of a loosy goosey estimate? -192, you would need a wind speed of about 150mph at -63F to get that wind chill.

edit: it would actually have to be well over 200mph

It usually gets to -50 C in my hometown, but this winter sucks, so it's only like, -15 C. :(
