Hey Gang,

One of the problems that I run into on occassion is keeping the cell charged when traveling, not finding outlets, yada-yada. This looks like a pretty good little solution to that problem, uses 4 AAA batteries, will give at least one full and one partial charge off a set of disposable batts. I'm thinking that with a little cutting and splicing of connectors other small battery devices could also be recharged, like PDA's for example.

Just thought I'd share what I found, it's called Clipper Cell Phone Emergency Charger (http://www.thetravelinsider.info/phones/cellphonerecharger.htm) Have a great day.

I like this gadget. Only $10, 1 oz (w/o batteries). I'm going to carry spare batteries anyway for my light, so it doesn't really add any more weight to my panniers.

Anybody have any experience with this before I buy it?

I recall seeing some sort of windy-uppie thing built like a wind-up radio, but to charge batteries.

How about panniers equipped with solar cells?

OK, thanks...I like that concept too! I'll see if I can find something similar in the states.

Easier to keep your phone switched off, and only turn it on when you have an emergency.
