Touring - Burley Nomad in a suitcase?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
No one in my area seems to carry the Nomad so I can't look at it. Has anyone here disassembled it enough to fit in a standard suitcase? I called Burley directly and they indicated I would have to disassemble the frame (invovling nuts and bolts). They didn't seem to recommend doing this. I'm not scared of nuts and bolts. Can it be done? I really need to take it overseas for our UK trip but I can't just buy one over there and throw it away.
No one has flown one overseas?

I have a Burley Nomad and I don't see it breaking down small enough for airline limits (62" L+H+W) without taking it completely apart, If you can do it and remember how to put it back together you probaly can pull it off. Personally I would rent a trailer in the UK . UK bike rentals are a bit different than the USA as cycling touring is a popular activity there.
A google search of .. bike trailer rental, UK .. brings up several rental shops. You should also inquire at the Cycling Plus magazine forums at http://www.cyclingplus.co.uk/forum/

You might want to check out Quik-Pak trailers. They fold easy for transport, and you can purchase a carry case/transport case from them seperately.
Our problem with renting overseas is, we're not returning to the same place we start. I would probably have to ship the trailer back to it's owner. I've thought about buying a used one and then selling when done but, that takes time to do and when the trips over...we fly home.
I looked at that quick-pak. Looks kinda doable...not sure of the construction of that trailer. The hitch looked a little flakey too. Ever use it?
If the Nomad will break down enough to get in a suitcase, I can put it back together no problem.
hummm....can't stop looking at that quick-pak... $350

I used the Quik-Pak last year for the first time on 2, one week tours. One of the tours was in Vermont, and a third of the time I was riding on gravel roads. No problems. On two of the days that it rained, my gear stayed dry. As for the hitch, I had my doubts too. Again, no problem. One of the nice things about the hitch is the ease of hitching, and unhitching the the trailer to the bike.
Bike Friday makes a trailer that IS a suitcase. Maybe that would hold enough of the things you had in mind for the nomad. Look at it here: http://www.bikefriday.com/main.cfm?fuseaction=news.article&ID=241&Category=Shop
