Pretty sad "letter of the day" to a unidentified newpaper. By a person who is advocating "removal of bicycles from the road way to save lives"
If you start with the premise that cyclists shouldn't be on the road, it's pretty easy to come to the conclusion that they shouldn't be on the road.
From the other snippets in that clipping, it seems to be out of Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne seems to have an outsized amount of anti-cycling sentiment.
Troll Journalism.
Ditto.

In the U.S. automobiles kill 40,000 people every year. Most of those accidents don't involve bikes.
To make the roads safer, remove all the automobiles.
Same for me too. I mean laugh or cry. Especially when you consider the page as a whole. The column on the right has headlines "The Comedy..." and "Comedy for..." As it were a comedy page. Anyways, maybe the author has a point. I've never considered how bad a car driver must feel after running over a cyclist. Poor, poor car drivers, they have such a difficult time. Hope Warrick feels better after this, with his new laser skirmishes! What ever they are.
