Well I just feel that I need to vent about my ride last night... I left my house around 1am for a 30 mile ride with a buddy of mine, and about 10 miles into the ride I was approaching an intersection and stopped at the red light my buddy was about a tenth of a mile behind me, and the light changed for the street on my right and the guy turned and floored it straight for me and then slammed on his brakes, luckily we both braked and we ended up about a foot apart....! thats right he turned onto the wrong side of the road, obviously he was DUI. I was speechless and in shock that I said nothing to guy... He then quickly flew over the median to get onto the right side of the road... I got his tag number and called the police and they were no help... I am just lucky to be alive. :)

Ya I've had headlights come the wrong-way down a oneway.
Just about soiled my panties.

What do you mean "the Police were no help"? Did they take a report? They didn't even try to look up the license and contact the driver?

Wow. You ride at 1 am? I would imagine you encounter a higher percentage of drunks and criminals at that time. I'm glad you're OK.

you guys and your police reports for everything.

Sentinel, from your other posts I gather you are an officer yourself. So is your considered professional opinion that when a citizen sees a motorist driving erratically, on the wrong side of the road, then drives over the median, at 1 am, he should just let it go?

Maybe he thinketh you ought to pull the guy out of the car, beat him silly, order him to get up, and when he does shoot him?

Police officers and their donut habits that are way more important than investigating, oh I don't know, crime.

DC, no, I expect them to call the police when someone is driving left of center. Some make it sound like you should file a police report for everything. There's a difference between calling to report an erratic driver and filing a report.
Fred, that is an un called for comment. I know which situation you are referring to and that was wrong from what I understand.
