Foo - What the heck happened to cowbells?

In the past Olympics all I can remember hearing during events besides cheering were the cowbells. This year it sounds like they're using airhorns or something... I noticed this a lot the other night during the snowboard cross. It sounds almost like they ditched the cowbells in favor of using actual cows. I liked the cowbells better...

Anyone know what's up with that?

they still are using them on at least the luge and downhill, but they didn't seem as loud.

I think it's because the commentary is so much better this time around, and they are mixing the actual event sounds lower so that the commentary is more present.

Hmm ya know , its almost perfect. I just think.. it could use a few more cowbells.

I just don't get the airhorn thing... There's nothing that sounds more "Olympic" than cowbells IMO.

At 1 event a commentator stated "You can tell the Swedes are in the crowd from the cowbells"
Evidently the Swedes are the cowbell ringers and you only hear them, if they[swedes] are participating
and doing well in the event.

The olympics needs more cowbell!!
