I've been reading the forum for a week or two now and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a year-round commuter and have been for about 15+ years. I commute on a Trek 920 with my recreational bike being a 29" Gary Fisher Mt. Tam. Haven't ridden it much as I'm coming off ankle surgery but as soon as the doc gives me the go ahead I'm back in the saddle. I've done one self-contained bike tour (short one through central CO) but look to do more as it's a wonderful way to see the world.

Hey, Welcome to the Forums.

Where in CO are you. I'm planning on moving to the Golden area soon. I've been offered a job there and have to sell my home here...blah, blah, blah.

I'm down in FL, and we are just now getting into great cycling weather. High's for the next week will be in the mid 70's and low's in the 50's.

I've been commuting to work and I'm going to a Fat Tire Festival this weekend. Whoo Hoo!

Welcome again!

Many welcomes! Okay, now tell us about the 29. How does it perform in the tight stuff?

ThanX!!!

I only had the bike for a couple of weeks before I had to have ankle surgery and didn't get a chance to do any serious riding (not that I'm a hard core rider to start with) so I can't answer the tight stuff yet. In the rides I did get in it did go over obstacles (rocks) more smoothly and easier than my 26" and I thought it climbed easier as well. My overall initial impressions were that it will make my rides more fun which will get me out more often. javascript:smilie('')
