Winter Cycling - pedal advice for bad weather riding

I just bought a used cyclocross bike for wet and winter riding. I'm not planning to cyclocross but I like the flexibility of tire size and fender room. I use road shoes on my primary road bike but I'm getting mountain bike shoes for bad weather riding and just plain fun. So what pedals should I get? I found that getting into spds were a bit of a challenge sometimes when I used them with the road shoes. Don't know that I want to go back to those with a mountain shoe. Time ATACs? Eggbeaters? Frogs? SPDs? I'm all ears. thanks.

Platform combos work well when you have to dab frequenctly.

Time ATAC and Eggbeaters are the only game in town for mud clearence and a platform for dabbing.

thanks. I think I'm going to settle on the Time ATACs. I do like what I see in the egg beaters but don't know if I want to ride them on the road given the small platform.

thanks. actually I'd forgotten about the Quattro. That may fit the bill entirely. If anyone has any experience with the Quattro, please let me know.

Ive found that Eggbeaters work great in the snow and mud. Ive never had any problem engaging this winter despite the number of times Ive had to walk through snow or dumped my off-road bike on a muddy snow coverd path.
I'm using the Candy version which allow the use of regular shoes in an emergency but are not a good solution for dual mode pedals.

I've got a pair of Nike mountian shoes for this bike. I've read the posts in different parts of this website about the quattro. I'm still unsure if my mtb shoe will work with the quattro, but the other revelation that came out of this is that maybe it's not important with a hard sole such as carbon. I do like the look of the quattro, but I'm more interested in function over form. anyone able to use the quattro with their mountain shoes?
