View Full Version : 40 year old virgin wasn't that bad a movie...
My gf and I actually seemed to enjoy it. Of course we're both nuts but still.
I think they were trying to portray him as being a childish loser and all but I mean, it seemed like he had it pretty good. A nice place, lots of toys, had time to work out, they made him look younger than his age, and he was pretty happy until his friends came along.
I mean, for most of the movie, I guess it says more about how sex is overrated than anything because it seemed like it was getting everyone in the movie in trouble.
I thought the office workers were pretty hilarious too.
Shesh if I saw that with my g/f thered be alot of ackward parts..

My wife and I enjoyed it also. She said he was just slightly less dorky than me.
On a related note...
This past Tuesday, I rode over to Wendy's for lunch and was locking my bike outside. That's when I heard, "Hey! I've got a big trunk. You can put your BIKE in it!"
I looked up and it was a lady from my office, sitting in the drive through. I smiled, turned toward the door a gave her a little hip shake, on my way in.
I guess she told everyone about it, because I've had three other co-workers make the same comment, since then.

yeah, he seemed totally content until they started forcing him to try and meet women. of course, now a days, almost every sitcom and comedy is geared toward "meeting the right person". the message out there is your life may appear to be okay if you're single, but deep down inside you're really a miserable loser.

My husband and I just watched the movie and we both thought it was pretty lame. I guess I missed the message because I was looking for the jokes.
The older office guy (Indian, Pakistani?) cursing was funny the first one or two times, because he really got on a roll, but then the gag was beaten into the ground.
I really know a movie just isn't all that right when I keep wondering how much more is left. The movie seemed like a 30 minute sit-com dragged painfully out to movie length. . .

It would have been more believable if he had known the lyrics to the Chiquita bannana song.
I think "Elvis Has Left the Building" with Kim Basinger and John Corbett was better. :)

last time i checked my gf (well ex gf :() and i dont normaly discuss alot of the stuff that happens in this movie. plus the nude scenes I can definetly see how that would be awkward.

while this was a fun movie, it could of only been more like 80 - 90 minutes instead of two hours. i have a short enough attention span as it is!

agreed. these kinds of movies always go too long for their own good. i guess people might be hesitant to pay full price to see such a short movie though.

That was like me with the Aviator...damn was that movie SLOWW :eek:
I only saw the unrated DVD version and enjoyed it. Haha, her breasts felt like... bags of sand. :D I was expecting him to at least be able to ride correctly. i.e. on the street & with traffic. But instead he rides on the sidewalk, then rides right across the street cutting through multiple lanes of traffic.

I guess one of the reasons I didn't find this movie all that funny (only somewhat amusing) is that I felt sorry for the guy. Not sorry that he hadn't had sex, but sorry that all his co-workers were hasseling the cr@p out of him!

i loved it. the chest waxing scene was worth the price of admission.
