I knew I'd screw it up somehow. I forgot YELLOW!
:::::sigh:::::
I've really struggled deciding if I had the chance would I choose between and a candy apple red or a bright yellow bike. I just don't know which way I'd go. And then I saw a "Tequila Sunrise" paint job that had both colors in it--about 1/2 the frame was each color with a faded transition where the two colors meet--and it really looked great!!! Bingo!!!!

Gloss black is the easiest to touch up . . . *pssttt* with a can of gloss black paint and it looks like new.

An auto body guy once told me that there is only 1 shade of black. Easiest color to match... My favorite color scheme is that orange/black Orbea one. Pretty sexy!

I have a yellow Rockhopper, Gary. I'm not upset that you left yellow out of the line-up. After riding it a while, I feel like I'm riding on a giant banana. I won't buy yellow again. If I could get the Specialized Rockhopper decals, I'd paint it another color.

Nahhh.... THIS is orange!
Only one I might choose on color alone would be nude carbon. I doubt it though. It's all about the ride unless it's hot pink or polka dotted or something wacky.

If you were to choose a bike based on color alone, what color would it be?

- Wil Yeah! Celeste #217. Bianchi's rule!
Since I ride classics (Capos) and classic wannabes (Peugeot UO-8), to me, the best color for any given bike is essentially its original color.

I recently repainted my old Cannondale and I painted it orange.

It might not be true orange, but it sure is a beaut.
As for details, it's made by a custon builder, Steve Rex of Rex Cycles. His shop is only about 15 miles from me and he builds steel or titanium. It's one of the pictures at his site. I've been sorely tempted to order one of his bikes - a special steel/Campy bike, but, as yet, can't pull the trigger. My wife has told me that I can get a new bike this year, but it gets awfully expensive going the custom route...over $4000 for the bike I'd want. It may come down to the Roubaix Expert, which my local bike shop sells for around $2000 at Christmas time. Then, I'd be on the lookout for a used steel to satisfy my steel cravings. I figure I could have both for about 60% the price of the Rex alone.

Well, lets see. I'm partial to black and to red bikes. My favorite bikes today are my white-to-gray fade road bike and my shadeshifter colored tandem. If I were to buy a bike today based on color alone, it'd be celest with Campy carbon stuff.

Key word "Promise". After I got the bike, I, of course, would never lower myself to doing any household duties. So, at most, two or three weeks of taking out the trash before the bike arrived. :D
Hey, for fun, I'm going to call her over for a response...oh, honey.
