contact Walter Mayer he may be able to help you ;)I hear he's busy for the next 6 years.
My wishes to get a frame like my 2003 Jamis Dakar , only a half a size larger . My 19" frame feels a bit short for my legs , but the 21" is too long for my torso and a bit too tall . Maybe a Custom Titus Racer X-100 or Moto-lite .

I wish not to get hurt above all, and for products, I really want a Stinky. I tried my friends stinky and after that I couldent believe im still riding a hardrock. As soon as I rode his bike, it gave me the confidence of dual suspension and long travel to do anything. The only set back is that its 2000$ yikes.
these are some bikes i want to build up over the next 2yrs maybe...of course that might change. i want to see if i can build a bike per tuition disbursement...tehehe :D
1) KOT trials
2) BMX (a kickass bmx if i can do what i want)
3) Soma Juice ? 29'er (that midnight purple color one), or maybe a different 29'er
4) Surely Pugsley (i love the pics that Joe1946 posted--see below)
oh...and i want a Rolhoff hub on something above

If you are going to run that tall of a fork, you want all the support you can get.

Technically, they only have 2 crowns: an upper and a lower.

I think he meant triple clamp. And instead of trying to make him look like a dumbass you could have just taken what he said and let it go since you obviously knew what he meant.

He meant tripple crown. You think he meant triple clamp. Both terms are incorrect. Others are obviously confused about the proper terminology also. Despite the pedantic tone of Hank's reply, he was trying to teach you guys something.
But I'd rather light a candle than curse your darkness, so here goes: The part of the fork that attaches the stanchions to the steerer tube is known as a "crown." Some forks have only one. They're known as "single crown" forks. Some forks have two, and they are known as "dual crown" forks. The term "triple clamp" is (I think) a carryover from motorcycle terminology, and is synonomous with "crown." To avoid confusion, I have found it is best to avoid the term "triple clamp" altogether when referring to mountain bike forks, but if you must, "double triple clamp" is technically correct when describing dual crown forks.
Hope this helps.

Crown does not equal clamp.
A typical DH fork has two crowns. Each of these crowns has three clamps. These clamps clamp, clamp, clamp away at the two fork stanchions and the steerer tube.

Most lower crowns have only two clamps. That's why I try and avoid the term.

What is the U shaped section that connects the legs called, or does it even have a name? (just curious)

My wish is to get my new\used frame\fork here so I can build it (2 weeks).

The arch?
I'll sometimes call it the brake arch, a carryover from the old days when brakes used to be mounted there.

Two crowns.
The lower is welded and has no clamps. The upper has three clamps.
