Damn BB7's making a noise while riding. It was so annoying today I had to cut my ride short. So I dropped off my bike at my LBS again to see if they could fix it. It's not a braking noise, it does it now just riding along. I should have tried to just remount and fix myself, but I just don't have the time. I'm hoping they can fix it, cause I consider my bike unrideable because the noise annoys me so much, hehe.

I hate Avid brakes. Sounds like they aren't set up right if they are making noise while riding along.

Don't want to steal your thread or anything but are your bb7 noisy while breaking even when they work properly? I was thinking of getting some but someone told me they're loud.

As long as they're dry, my BB7s are as close to silent as I could imagine them being.

I've had three sets of BB7's and I only had one pair start to make noise, a bit obnoxious, but not unridable.

it wasn't even that obnoxious. It was just annoying. It took the joy out of my riding. I'm just hoping it gets fixed. If not, I'll set the damn things up myself. But I don't know what I could do that the mech's that are trained couldn't.

When I get on my front brake hard , it makes a slight pulsating sound/feeling . This only happens on long steep downhills . Nothing louder than any rim-brakes , and it's not annoying at all. It's just a low-toned buzzing sound .

Have you all had your disc tabs faced?

Have you all had your disc tabs faced? How is this going to help? The caliper mounts allow you to align it properly with the disc. Do you think the caliper is wiggling around on the tabs ? I don't think there's a problem with my brakes . When mine makes a noise , it's more like a sound than a noise . Does that make any sense ? It only happens under very ,very hard braking .

It's always a possibility that not having the tabs faced can cause noises. The tabs need to be perfectly aligned and that is hard to do when they have paint on them. The paint thickness could vary a little. I guess it is even possible that it could have a little flexibility to it (the paint).

I'm just throwing something out there, it's very simple to do and could take care of the problem.
