Was last week a re-run? I missed it. And I really hope they end the show and wrap up the story threads instead of try to prolong it for a few more years.

bigskymacadam

oh. here's the thread about 'lost' i was looking for.

great first season. boring second season. wifey stills watches it so i get the lowdown ... but i can't bear to watch it anymore.

phantomcow2

Last week was not. They found this guy, I can't remember the name. All i can think of is "Minnesota man" because he claims he is frm minnesota. I guess he has supposedly been on the Island for 4 months when his hot air ballon crashed, his wife died. Sayid interrogates him, says this man is a liar.
Thats what i am feeling, they really need to wrap this up.

jyossarian

i need to download that episode from itunes and watch it before tomorrow's episode.

phantomcow2

Heh, i think next week is a rerun...

blue_neon

Thanks for spoiling it :). We're only up to episode 4 here, although i'm downloading them over limewire because the show drags on show much i can't be bothered waiting.

Taerom

I watched most of the first season, just to be completely let down by the ending. I thought the show was gonna end after season one, but nooooo. The show was decent, but it got a little too far fetched for me. I haven't watched TV for months now.

Peek the Geek

This show is one of the reasons they invented Tivo. You can't miss an episode, but I'm not gonna schedule my evenings around it. The best is when you have two or three consecutive episodes you haven't seen yet recorded and you can watch them all at once, zipping through the commercials and picking right up from where the show's last cliffhanger ending left off.

True, the show gets dragged out a lot, but they still keep it interesting and are always shocking the heck out of me with each twist. Much better than almost all the other crap on TV (except for The Office and Scrubs. And don't give me any of that "Oh, the British version was so much better" stuff. I've seen every episode of each, and the U.S. version is just as good :p )

I always knew Sawyer was no good. Kate should be with me. :D

god, how long is this show going to last? it's good, but come on? similar to 24, just end the damn thing already.

How long were the castaways stranded on Gilligan's Island? Without the talents of The Professor, I'd say the Lost folks will be on the island considerably longer.

They are throwing so many twists and turns in that it takes forever for anything to happen. I'll keep watching for now, but if something interesting doesn't happen real soon I'll be finding something else to do on Wed night.

Also, the ratio of show to commercials seems to be very low. Seems like it is almost 1:1 sometimes. :(

There are two things keeping me watching, at this point:
Walt's fate.
Timer hitting 000:00.

They teased us with the second one, this last week, which just ticked me off. If these don't get cleared up before the season is over, I'm out.

Those..... and "the numbers".

I saw one episode the first season. Maybe it was the first episode. They were still kind of hanging out on the beach. Bits of the plane were there, and a woman was coming to grips with the loss of her husband. Some old guy was having flashbacks about being pushed around and disrespected at work, but he was trying to come across as a mercenary or something. There was something really big crashing around in the forest, but they never showed what it was.

Was it a dinosaur? That's pretty much all I want to know at this point.

dragracer

It's some kind of black smoke/mist stuff, but Lord only knows what it is.

Yes it was. A Stegosaurus, I believe. With rabies.

Brillig

They do drag the pace out a bit but the show is still incredible. I'm very rarely frustrated.

Last week's show was awesome.

Really? COOL!

Obviously, I gave up on it too soon.

KrisPistofferson

I think they do a good job of wrapping up one mystery while presenting you with another. This is a very good show, and if anything it's better this season, but it seems a lot of you would be happier watching "Murder She Wrote," if you can't handle long story arcs for grown adults. They really need to quit interspersing reruns with the new ones, though, it's maddening and tiresome. Just show me the new season!

phantomcow2

a saga is okay, but its like now they have so many loose ends, waay to many unanswered questions

timmhaan

this is a show that i would much rather watch on DVD. it's hard for me to commit to that wednesday night at that time slot for months on end.

If only they'd remake "Murder She Wrote" with Evangeline Lilly as the star. Talk about must-see TV.

Hey, we got moved to the "Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment" Forum. I've never been in here before.

Nice rugs. Does it always look like this, or is it Oscar weekend?

Do they have an attendant in the restrooms too?

Do they have an attendant in the restrooms too?

Let's go look. I think they're upstairs.

timmhaan

i hate attendants in the bathroom. it's such as sad job and it's really ackward for me to have them in there. plus you have to tip, so it costs a $1 to go pee.

bump! new episode this week. anyone care to speculate?

KrisPistofferson

I speculate that they've seriously hurt their ratings with so many danged reruns interspersed with the new episodes. This is the only show I tune into on a weekly basis, but it's quite maddening. If I wanted to watch random episodes of season one, I would've bought season one on DVD, (which I did.)

Seriously. Great show, but this is getting *really* annoying.

I watched season 1 on DVD and it was so much better that way.

For anyone who's not hooked already, just wait til they wrap the series up and then go back and watch the whole thing on DVD.

Peek the Geek

How true. I'd love to be able to speculate, but I can't even remember what happened last time, since it seems so long ago.

I'm beginning to suspect that this is all just a social experiment being conducted by ABC to determine just how much control the networks have over us.

KrisPistofferson

Anyone think Sun's bun is Jin's? And is Lt. Commander Data one of the "Others?"

Brillig

I'm a little undecided on the bun. She seemed pretty earnest and yet...how could it be?

Otoh, that dude is one of the others (whatever his name is). Is there any doubt after that last scene?

Next week is going to fricking rock.

I missed tonights episode because I was out riding.

Now I'm screwed for another four weeks.

Actually, next week's is new too (amazingly enough). Now quit riding and watch some more TV, dammit!

For those of you that watched, did anyone else notice they mispelled "your" in the subtitles for Sun? That's amazing that a mega hit network TV show couldn't get that right.

I didn't have any doubt until I saw the balloon in the trees during some sneak previews of next weeks episode. Now I have doubt.

Good point.

But those others are a crafty bunch. The island seems to be a magnet for flying objects to crash into, he could have cleverly built his story around a crashed balloon he happened to already know about.

muccapazza

Doh! Now I don't know what to think.

They are such a sneaky bunch of tricksters.

KrisPistofferson

I think an important clue was when balloon man said he shaved-Remember how when they went looking for Michael and they met up with the others, they all had beards, then, when they went back to that daycare hatch where they had been keeping pregnant Aussie-cutay, all they found was some fake beards and spirit gum? Guy's just too damn creepy not to be one of them.

Brillig

Plus, that one big leader dude who was intimidating Jack was in there without a beard, if you noticed.

I'm almost as sick of my avatar as much as I am of the show itself. It looks like the writers are just winging it now. Oh, and don't forget the endless parade of reruns. At least there's 24.

I still think the show is outstanding, they've got a plan. But the rerun thing is getting extremely aggravating.

We actually have 2 new ones in a row and it feels like they're doing us a favor. That's pathetic.

jyossarian

Either Jin's boys are working again or Sun got busy w/ the bald rich guy. Unless the writers are making this the immaculate conception and her baby's gonna save everyone or die for their sins. As for the ballonist, the preview showed a balloon in the trees. I thought he said he buried it?

goatshark

That guy Rousseau (sp?) captured - Henry Gale - he's TOTALLY an "other" - just my prediction. Also, isn't it about time they do another episode about Hurley's flashbacks?
