Mountain Biking - Nice now I can bunnyhop 3 feet in length! Turns out it is just a matter of speed.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Today I cleared a 3 foot (aproximately could be more actually) gap and I wasn't going with much speed, if you bunnyhop tall enough and throw your body forward it turns out its pretty easy! Damn, I just love this sport and I also pulled a manual and my bunnyhop's height is improving, you just gotta love how much difference a little practice can make. Well, thats it, just wanted to tell you about my accomplishments so nevermind me laugh out loud.
P.S: On one jump my feet slipped off the pedals and I wiped out bad, thankfully nothing happened to the bike or (more importantly) me, I got back up on the bike and kept riding, though my arm hurts now, its part of the sport I guess.

Just wait until one of those pedals come's back at your shin for revenge.
Yeah, I've gone through this type of thing too. It's fun to learn stuff like that. Like you said, it's all a matter of speed. I did a bunny hop of 9 feet in distanace in the summer, must have been going 35 km/h though. :p

Congrats on the progress. Riding really is a lot of fun.
I can hop about 1.5ft high if I'm going slowly, but I have trouble getting that high if I go fast enough to clear a gap. Just need practice I think
bunny hops are fun. but the pedal to the shin really kills.
it is suprising the impressive things you can do with a good bunny hup or j-hop.

speed = length, but not height... same for skateboarding too, and i'm sure many other things.

I've got bone spurs on my shins from being a skateboard youth.
I sunk the pins on my pedals into them so hard once I puked.
Or...maybe it was 'cause I crotched onto the toptube after I lost footing.
Ah...the joys of mtb'ing. :D

This article is an excellent read. Based on BMX, but it's not terribly different.
