I've just put up a number of pictures of the time trials today.

I would suggest going in reverse as the fastest bikers went towards the end. The weather was great with a light headwind on the drive to the finish line. I took a number of photos in the start area where I was able to see all of the teams and their warm-ups, as well as the start. I then biked down to see some of those racers about 3K from the finish line.

It's probably exactly what it looks like -- some guy riding alongside.

Probably not very clever of the guy, but loads of the course (even up to one block before the finish) was just wide open public road. Nothing to stop anyone from hangin' out doing whatever along the roadway.

You could even cross the race course like just meters in front of the finish line all day, in between rider arrivals. You'd go up to a volunteer, ask if it was cool to cross, they'd look back up the course to make sure nobody was coming, and you could walk right across. Also, you could hang out just beyond the finish line, and walk right up to riders as they crossed if you wanted a chat or a snapshot. Pretty low-key and wide open all around.

What a cool day!

The biker is finished with the race and is returning to the start area. I was trying to catch some riders that I might not have gotten earlier. Once I start taking pictures, I can't seem to stop :-). The time trial is a great excuse for taking pictures as one gets time with most of the riders.
