Hello,
I have another interest besides cycling that is baking. I love making yummy stuffs like chocolate cake, bronies, cookies, apple pie, and whatever fattening foods. I just need to know u guys opinion, will my this hobby affect my performance as a cyclist? Are those foods mentioned bad or they are fine since they provide me energy for my cycling?
Thanks! :D
Only if you take your hands off the handlebars while eating them!

Not at all, well as long as you don't go overboard eating it! Baking/cooking is a passion of mine and it doesn't cause any problem with me in the weight loss performance catagory. They should add a recipe/cooking forum happy fuel makes a happy engine

Absolutely not, I would not worry about it. If your making it at home with good ingredients (see fresh) and are not eating an entire cake a night it wont be a problem. You will start running into problems when you omit all these things from your diet and then 'crash' and splurge over a short time. Like the saying goes, "everything in moderation including moderationg", treat yourself to a couple cookies here, a small piece of pie there. Just make sure you use the best quality ingredients you can-

I don't ride to lose weight - I ride so I can eat more. :D
I remember reading an article about Roger DeVlaminck. He said that what he used to do was eat a lot of cakes and sweets (well, he's belgian!) in the weeks leading up to the spring classics. He found that it gave him more endurance in the cold weather. And as it turns out, sugar does give your muscles more endurance! So he was right.
It ain't the baking, or for that matter, the buying either that causes all the trouble.
