Any idea why the front brake on my mtn bike chatters? When I apply the brake the whole front fork shakes. No problem with the rear. This is NOT a disk brake. Brake pads look fine.

Check your headset to make sure its not loose. Then be sure your pads are "toed in", that the front of the pad is slightly closer to the rim than the rear of the pad is. Also, sandpaper the pads and rim to make sure they are clean.

I too would suspect a loose headset but your fork legs could be sloppy too. If you have a lot of miles on the bike, your fork bushings may need replaced.
Does this happen all the time or just at certain places on the rim? If it is a pulsing kind of feeling, it could be a blipped rim.
Also check to see if the brake caliper bolts are tight...not too tight, just snug.
