I recently posted a question about full suspension vs. hardtail, and based on feedback I've decided to go the full suspension route. My LBS has an '05 Enduro on sale for $1070. The salesman said it is the base model, and that its original price was $1700. I looked at the Specialized website, and I'm guessing it is maybe the Enduro 130. I know that it had a Marzocchi fork, a Fox float rear shock, XT rear derailleur, and 6" rear/8" front mechanical disc brakes. But, the site I looked at doesn't show the MSRP. I ride primarily trail and single track on the weekends. Is this a good choice? Is this a good price? What other bikes might I consider? If you ride/have ridden an Enduro or the FSR system, I'd appreciate your thoughts too! Thanks!

I just bought that exact same bike for $1300 after tax. So $1070 is a steal. The bike has gotten good reviews and I'm happy with my decision.

Those are great bikes. You'll like it on the trail. Ask Gastro.

Here's my 04 Pro, which is the same frame as the 05 130:

Mine is built a little heavier than most, but I love it. The lifetime warranty is tough to beat also. Sorry the pic is so big.

I'm in the same boat. I am looking for an Enduro...i can get the 05 now or wait quite a while and get the 06. Are the upgrades for 06 enough to justify the wait and expense?

That depends on which Enduro model you're looking at.

They discountinues this particular frame type for '06. There were very few '05 Enduros left when I got mine.

Nice ride, Gastro!

I just picked up my Enduro on Saturday... went from a Kona Stuff - talk about an awakening. :D

Swapped out the pedals, grips and tires from my old bike. Diggin it big time.

Question - where'd you get the small mud flap in the back? Looks like it'd go a long way to keep stuff off your rear absorber.

twochins, I run a 27" Azonic bar.

somegeek, that is a (you guessed it) "mudflap shock protector" made by Specialized. It seems to protect the shock pivots to a certain extent. It's available on their website or through your dealer.

nice garage door btw. ;)
