My girlfriend is doing a paper on men and women in sports, and asked me if I could think of some women in cycling. Since I do not really follow cycling sports, I thought to ask all you fans out there. Any help with articles maybe some ladies who race could chat with her? Thanks.

Check on nsmb.com, there is a new article on there. There is also a group called the dirty girls and a recent new dh group of 3 local chicks. We also have a large and popular female only dh training. Check on http://ww1.whistlerblackcomb.com/bike/camps/

I would also check in the forums at www.ridemonkey.com there are a number of women there who race dh. I believe the subforum is called mudhunnies. Lots of semi and exper level racers if I remember correctly.

Check out Speedy Beaver Racing (http://www.speedybeaverracing.com/index.htm) - - group of PNW downhill gals based out of the Puget Sound Basin. Also, I highly recommend to anyone to read Marla Streb's book, Downhill: Life Story of a Gravity Goddess (http://www.marlastreb.com/book.html). A lot of really good insight into females racing at the elite level.

Also check out the dvd Off Road to Athens. It has the women that were all competing for the one US womans spot in the Athens Olympics.
