Hey, does anyone out there have an opinion on using a Czech-made Favorit cro-moly frame for cyclocross?? I found a funky little bike store where the old dude swears by these frames. He's willing to do a custom build for me for REALLY cheap (with decent shimano or campy components, although some would be used). The frame looks "vintage" (it is kinda old) but solid.

I found another place that would sell me a 05 Kona Jake (new) for about 250 more...although its perhaps a cm smaller than i would normally ride (it's the only one they have in stock, but also a good price compared to other 05 jakes i've seen).

Probably I would get a better fit with the used one and better components (although used), but the new one is just that--new!

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Well for 250 more you get what sounds like a way better bike, I don't know if czech bikes are like czech cars, but it doesn't sound that great.
