I'm a 18 yr student at University of Central Florida and i'm interested in getting into mountain biking, though unfortunately i'm still such a novice that I can count the number of times I've been down a trail on my fingers. When not on a trail, my bike doubles as transportation around campus, and when i'm not on my bike :( I'm either at my computer, out partying, or busy with homework.

My first bike was a Dual Suspension Pacific and although it should be condemned to the depths of walmart special hell, I must thank it for creating my interest in the sport.
My second bike was a GT Avalanche 3.0 w/ disc brakes and it was the single greatest source of pleasure in my life... for about a week. It dissapeared in the middle of my chemistry lecture. Quite a painful way to learn that braided steel cable locks are really more of a window dressing security.
My current bike is a (old) Bianchi Ibex that I picked up on ebay for 75$. Unfortunately it's in need of repair and that's what brings me to this site!

There are no mountains in Florida, except Mount Dora.

But there are some great trails, believe it or not, especially in the central area of the state. I'm from Utah, and miss the mountains, but I do love the trails here. Boyette and Alifia are wonderful. I spend most of my time on the trail at Carter Road in Lakeland. Don't know what it is about that one, but I just love it.
