I'm looking for a new hardtail. I want something different. I recall Ventana from long ago and was wondering if anyone know much about them. I am also considering the Gunnar Rock Hound, Ellsworth Enlightment, and Salsa Moto Rapido. Any suggestions?

I have the Enlightenment and I love it. It is extremely fast and a great race bike. It is pretty light and it handles extremely quick. Mine hits the scales right around 20.75 pounds.

I think my racing days are over. Therefore, I'm scared to get too light and expensive bike-- just to be thrashed when I come screaming down a mountain. My riding will be lmostley level, technical single track and then a couple times a month up 3000ft on logging roads and then down on single track. Thanks for comment and pic., it looks sweet!

In that case I would stay away from the Enlightenment. It is a great bike for it's intended purpose but in my opinion the bottom bracket is too low for every day technical riding.

Thank you very much. My brother said the same thing about his Gunnar Rock Hound. I love the technical stuff. I'm trying to pay attention to geometry for the frames I am looking at but everyone measures the same distance differently (what a surprise). What sort of measurements am I looking for for BB height or angle?
