Ive searched on how this bloody thing works, and ive tried it out, and i have NO IDEA how it works!!

I have a truvativ firex isis crank.

Please help!

From what I see it is like my Spin Doctor which I just used on my wife's mtn. bike...........you thread the black end into the crank arm threads with the rotating disk end pressing firmly onto the splines in the crank arms. Then you use your supplied wrench and begin to loosen in the proper direction in relation to which side crank arm you are working on. In other words the disk will press against the splines and pull the crank arms from the BB.

1. remove crank bolts
2. screw in black part
3. screw in silver part

That should do it unless the head is not big enough to engage an ISIS spindle.

Cheers, i guess i was doing it the right way, but i really had to crank it hard to get the crank arms off.

And putting the crank arms back on? just smack them with a rubber mallet?

Just put the crank arms back on and tighten the crank bolts. No need to smack with a mallet.

Tighten the bolts HARD. The torque spec is about 350 inch-pounds which is much more than you would expect.

350in.lbs.=30ft.lbs.=30lbs of your weight, applied 12in away from the bolt.
It wont hurt it to go 40+. apply a light coating of grease to spindle and bolt threads.

29.167ft*lbs :D (im a nerd engineer)

edit: im not saying it takes an engineer to figure that out...
