why?You asked if a Huffy is a good bike. The answer is no. If you're asking if $20 is a cheap way to get into biking, the answer *might* be different.

I am the current owner of it. I put many miles on it, and it never failed. It may be a 26x1/38, but its a good bike. I have moved on to a 27inch and my old huffy isnt being ridden. It has a new-ish front brake too.

I'd buy just about any bike that was in good shape and only $20. :D

Huffy did re-badge some very nice Carltons in the 70s. So let's not be too quick to pass judgment!

Huffy from the 70s is a much better bike than what they offer today. For $20? Do it!
My wife rode her first 100 mile event in '75 on a Huffy 10-speed with upright bars.
Since then she has cycled over 200,000 miles . . . but not on that Huffy.

Huffy did re-badge some very nice Carltons in the 70s. So let's not be too quick to pass judgment!A Carlton with a Huffy name on the downtube would still be a Carlton, although obviously worth a lot less than a bicycle with the Carlton name on the downtube. I'd go for that deal, if for nothing else, as a beater. But I'd still say a "genuine" Huffy is not a "good" bike.

EDIT: For $20, it's a good way to get into road biking and see if you like it, and it's almost unbeatable as cheap transportation.
