I'm curious as to what you think of this controversial movie.

I saw it yesterday and basically liked it. I thought the cinematography was beautiful, the story good and the acting excellent all around. The sex scenes (straight and gay) neither offended nor titillated me.

I have a couple of quibbles with the movie. I thought it was too long and dragged a bit at times. I also thought that the passage of time could have been marked more clearly. There was one confusing flashback, for instance.

What do you think?

I haven't seen it yet but plan to. I like all the major actors in it, so I have no doubt I will like the movie.

I liked it. finally a movie wherein Violence was a minimum, acting was in the main. the scenery was suberb, and Larry Mcmurtry?..........prob the best screen writer or writer on the American scene. the actors ? all gave fine performances, the last scene where Jacks widow is speaking on the phone was mind blowing, McMurtry in an interview relates how he took Ang Lee to a west Texas town near where Larry M lives to show him the big hair women
