Find myself plotting a crazy idea.
I lurk in the Single speed/Fixed Gear forum, as that is what I ride most. They seem to be a collection cyclists that enjoy getting together for rides, and libations. There was an interesting post, the Frozen Snot Century, but there was no information.
Having done several centuries myself, a few in the cooler months, I hatched this idea of a bunch of us hardy souls, who don't really "fit" the SS/FG crowd, I gotta admit I'm a bit old for that crowd, but would like to get together, putting faces with avatars and forum aliases, for a ride. Not sure if anyone would be up for a century, but the ride to Red Wing is fantastic, as is the ride to Northfield, both are just in the 50 mile range, so there and back would be 100 miles for those of us in the Twin Cities. I know that the wind would be at our backs on the way down and in our faces one the way home, so it maybe something we want to avoid. Another idea is Rochester.
Anyone interested?
Anyone think of logistics? Like a sag wagon? Or how to get back from say Rochester, other than spend the night and ride back, which is also a fun ride.

Amtrak. It leaves by my house southbound at ~8am daily. Get off in Red Wing, Winona, where ever. It arrives Westbound at ~10:30p. Otherwise you can park&ride any number of points along 61. I keep thinking a good (and tough) ride would be MN 60 between Wabasha and Zumbrota. Lots of nice riding down that way, mostly for the motorcycles from my experience. Camping may prove to be an option as well. The bike path through Lanesboro could prove to be a luxe option for a century--might do that with the missus and just send her to the antique stores to drain the 'ole wallet.
