Park's web page mentions that the new 2003 PCS-1 W.S. is now 52" tall. How tall were the PCS-1s of previous years? As well as did the 100-1C clamp always have 360 degrees of rotation?

TIA

Robert

I just measured my 'old' PCS-1 stand, and the arm the jaws are on is 46" from ground. The height of the new stand will make it more comfortable to work while standing up. The jaws on my stand rotate 360*

You can also pick up an extension for the "old" PCS-1 stands at most mail order palces now. I think it gives you a claimed max height raise of 21 inches and you can adjust anywhere in this range.

Where did you see the 'extension' for the PCS 1? I did a Google search and can't find it.

The extension just came out this winter. I have one on order at www.cambriabike.com , and I beleive that you can also get one at www.jensonusa.com . You can also check them out at www.parktool.com . I have not found a mail-order place with them in stock though-cambriabike told me it would be about ten days before they would get them in stock to ship them. Parktool.com makes it sound like the extension will work with the "old" model PCS-1 stands. Hope this helps.

P.S. - They are about $19-$20 dollars most places.

I called Park last Thursday or Friday because someone mentioned they had seen the PCS-1 extension at jensenusa.com. The person I spoke to at Park said the extension will not be on the market for a month or two. If anyone actually gets their hands on one please let me know because I would sure like to get one.
FWIW,

The PCS-EXT extension will fit Park Tool repair stands with a composite top tube. The PCS-EXT should be available by January 2003. The PSC-1 stand has always had 360-degrees rotation.

See it at http://www.parktool.com/tools/PCS_EXT.shtml

This is good news. I was just re-visiting this post because as it turns out a co-work and fellow rider is selling me his PCS-1 that he doesn't use for $60. Needless to say I jumped all over that one.;)

That's a pretty good deal. I have had mine for a couple of years now and really like it. Very sturdy and stable. Although I have not found the lack of height adjustment a problem I will buying the adjustable extension when it is available.
