I'm 55 but feeling like 16 since I just ore=dered my new bike. It's a Waterford steel bike and when built up at the LBS will have Ultegra components. Now if only I can wait....

Wow, Waterfords are cool-looking frames. I've never ridden one, but I'll bet they're cool riding as well. That's another company that tempts me. From what I've heard, they aren't built to be speed demons, but to provide the riding comfort that steel can provide. In other words, you really look forward to getting on the thing and ride, ride, ride.

What color frame?

I went with a medium orange. They're painting the fork to match. While they offer all kinds of slick effects for extra cost, I didn't think the added $$ for looks would be all that useful.

Enjoy!

Sweet! Isn't getting a new bike just the coolest thing? Post some pictures as soon as it arrives... we'll all enjoy seeing them!

What a joy to get a new bike- just as the weather starts getting right aswell. Only thing about new bikes is that it takes me about a year to sort them out. All that "Newness" to wear off, the saddle to get right, and the bars,, then there is the wear to compensate on the drive chain and the cables to stretch.

If I was you- I would loan the bike out to someone for about 6 months to let them have the hassle of sorting it for you. Tell you what- I'll pay the shipping and I'll sort it for you. Problem is- if it is that good a bike- it may take longer than a year to sort.

I ride a Gunnar Street Dog. Gunnar is the "slightly" lower cost line from Waterford. (TIG welded, instead of lugged, limited color choices. ) Gunnar is the name of Richard Schwinn's Lab, who was trained as a hunting dog, but likes to socialize with people more, according the company website.

Believe me, you will not be disappointed. Be prepared to become addicted though. You'll find youself even taking vacation days just to go riding.

Waterford and Gunnar both have a rider's gallery. Send a picture to them, they love to get feedback.

Congrats on your new ride!

How sweet it is to be looking forward to a new bike and a new spring season to ride it...congrats. Question: which model, what kind of headset, pedals, saddle, wheels? I like your color choice....straightforward paint schemes are timeless, graceful, and have an understated elegance that makes them stand out. There are so many bikes with blue/carbon color schemes these day....and before somebody flames me...I have a blue Romulus.
Vive l'orange!

Congratulations! You are gonna love your Waterford, I've had a Gunnar Sport model since mid-December '05 and it is an awesome ride.
